한국을 포함한 29개 회원국으로 구성된 국제세이브더칠드런연맹은 이번 자연재해로 인한 피해 상황이 개별 회원국의 대응이 아닌 연맹 차원의 지원이 필요한 긴급 사태로 규정하고, 국제사회에 도움의 손길을 요청하고 있습니다.
한편 세이브더칠드런은 사태의 심각성에 따라 연맹 차원의 목표 모금을 향후 6개월 동안 2,000만 달러(한화 약 250억)로 상향 조정했으며, 세이브더칠드런 한국 역시 1차 목표액이었던 1억 원의 5배에 달하는 50만 달러(한화 약 5억)로 상향 조정했습니다.
